Environmental Policy
“We’re sustainable, so you can be too.”
At Phiston Technologies, we understand the importance of protecting the environment. We have made it our mission to ensure that our operations are conducted responsibly, with a focus on reducing waste and pollution.
As technology continues to advance, so too does the problem of electronic waste (e-waste). E-waste refers to any electronic device that has reached the end of its useful life and is discarded. The rise of e-waste is a growing concern worldwide due to the environmental impact it can have if not managed properly. With more electronic devices being produced each year, the amount of e-waste generated is also increasing.
In 2022, the world generated 62 million metric tons of electronic waste, also known as “e-waste,” according to the United Nations Global E-waste Monitor released Wednesday.
To put that in perspective, this waste could fill more than 1.5 million 40-metric-ton trucks which, if placed bumper-to-bumper, could form a line long enough to wrap around the equator.
This number is expected to continue to rise, with projections indicating that global e-waste could reach 74 million metric tons by 2030. The improper disposal of e-waste can result in environmental pollution, health risks, and the loss of valuable resources that could be recycled or repurposed. Large and hazardous waste poses the most danger as it contains toxic materials like lead, mercury, and other hazardous substances. These materials can leach into the soil and water systems, causing long-term environmental damage. In addition, these materials can cause health problems for those who handle them regularly. That is why it is essential to ensure your e-waste ends up at a recycling facility and not a landfill.
ESG
We tackle the most significant ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) challenges head-on. Implementing rigorous sustainable practices to achieve substantial social, environmental and financial benefits.
Our Key Areas of Focus in Sustainability:
1. Building Relationships and the Environment: We are dedicated to earning our customers’ trust and actively contributing to environmental sustainability, both within our operations and in the wider community. We work with clients to create solutions that empower the circular economy.
2. Leading Innovation in Security and Sustainability Practices: We’re focused on pioneering advancements in both security and sustainability practices, ensuring a safer and greener future for our businesses and stakeholders. We have a dedicated R&D department to develop cutting edge technologies to shape a sustainable future.
Why is ESG Important to Phiston
The environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria stems from investors’ desire to screen their investments. ESG offers a means for investors to directly compare companies and incentivize responsible behavior. It’s important to your consumers, it’s important to our clients, and it’s important to our business. Phiston is mutually invested in ESG compliance, leading innovations that get our clients closer to net zero emissions.
Social Pressure:
Our clients face mounting pressure from various social groups, including their employees to address critical societal issues such as climate change, health and safety and diversity. As partners to our clients it is our responsibility to help them get there. This is crucial not only for our customers and clients but also for our business ethos.
State Legislation:
The passage of the Climate Corporate Accountability Act by the California Senate underscores the legislative push towards sustainability. Large corporations operating in California must now disclose their greenhouse gas emissions, including those from their supply chain. We are helping our clients disclose this information in a transparent manner to assist them in reaching their sustainability goals.

We Understand That Not Everyone Wants to Shred, That Is Why We Partner With Electronic Refurbishers to Give Versatility for End-Of-Life Media
As a leader in the data security industry, we recognize the importance of minimizing our ecological footprint and ensuring the proper handling of electronic waste (e-waste).
Our commitment to sustainability begins with responsible product design and manufacturing. We use eco-friendly materials wherever possible and ensure that all of our products comply with industry standards for energy efficiency and environmental protection. This reduces the amount of waste that our products generate and minimizes their impact on the environment.
In addition to sustainable product design, we also prioritize e-waste recycling and reuse. We work with certified R2 e-waste recyclers to ensure assets are securely recycled into a second life. By doing so, we actively reduce the waste that ends up in landfills and reduce the carbon footprint for our clients.
